26 YEAR OLD MAN OF OLD KANYAMA COMPOUND ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEATH OF ANOTHER MAN

Police in Lusaka have arrested a 26 year old man identified as Lefat Tembo of Lusaka’s Old Kanyama compound in connection with the death of Victor Chisulo aged 35 of Misisi Compound.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo who confirmed the development to Komboni Radio News says it is alleged that the suspect assaulted and pushed Chisulo to the ground after the duo had a misunderstanding on 13th September 2017 at about 15 hours at a named filling station near Intercity Bus terminus on Dedani Kimathi Road.

Mrs Katongo explained that victim was rushed to UTH by his relatives on 15th September and died on the 18th of September after his condition worsened.

She said the body of the deceased is in UTH Mortuary awaiting postmortem while the accused person is detained in police custody.

Meanwhile, four people among them a couple, sustained serious injuries in fight which erupted at a drinking spree which happened at Chambulumina area in Lusaka West yesterday at about 16 hours.

Mrs Katongo identified the injured as Agness Laima Ndhlovu aged 52 of Chambulumina area who sustained a swollen face, Emmanuel Ndhlovu aged 52 also of the same area who sustained a swollen face, Augustine Lengalenga aged 29 of Chambuluma who sustained multiple head injuries and Augustine Zulu aged 34 of Kalundu compound who sustained a cut on the chest and face.

The police spokesperson says cause of the fight has not yet been established and no arrest has been made as all the involved parties were seriously injured and are receiving medical treatment.

Mrs Katongo says police have since instituted investigations into the matter.
