Traders at Pamodzi market in Kanyama constituency have bemoaned the poor sanitary conditions prevailing at the trading centre.

And the traders have charged that the current situation if left unchecked will result in the outbreak of water borne diseases.

One of the traders who identified himself as Francis Mulenga lamented that most bars and restaurants in the market have continued to operate without toilets and constant running water.

Mr Mulenga further complained that the market which is commonly known as Chibonyole by the locals has been neglected for years despite it being the nearest to Kanyama Health centre.

Another trader who sort anonymity said people who patronize bars around the market have resorted to relieving themselves in packs of opaque beer and in open places due to lack of toilet facilities.

He has since appealed to the market committee to address the poor sanitary conditions at the market.
